A special puzzle for kids and adults to solve alone or together!

Sam and Ruth love horseback riding and have their own horses.  Their trainer decided to let them have a special one-lap race -- the person owning the slower horse would win the trophy!

Well, the race started at 8 a.m., and the two just sat ambling around with their horses as they tried to be as slow as they could be.

They took a short break to stretch their legs, whispered to each other, then took off again on horseback going as fast as they could to the finish line!  What happened?
